Rising Population & Growing Demand for High-quality Agriculture Products
According to the data published by the United Nations, by 2050, the world population is expected to reach 9.8 billion, with roughly 83 million people getting added to the world population every year.

Global production of food, feed, and fiber will need to increase by 70% by 2050 to meet the demands of the growing population.

Industry 4.0 in Agriculture:
The Industry 4.0 trend is transforming the production capabilities of all industries, including the agricultural domain.

The main connectivity requirements of agriculture IoT applications are a large coverage and lower costs of deployment or maintenance. Most applications, focusing on monitoring and data collection have however relatively low needs in terms of bandwidth and low latency.
Focus on IoT aspects
Agriculture 4.0 is transforming the business ecosystems and opening up new room in the value chain and development of new revenue modes.

Connected objects are often seen as a way to provide additional services on top of existing equipment.

Why Zigbee?

✓ Carry small amounts of data over a short
distance while consuming very little power.

✓ As opposed to WiFi, which uses a star network,
Zigbee uses a mesh networking standard,
meaning each node in the network is connected
to each other.

✓ Since Zigbee is an open-standard technology,
Zigbee devices of different vendors are more
compatible with each other than Wi-Fi.
